Svitolina drops to ninth spot in WTA ranking

Ukraine’s No.1 tennis player Elina Svitolina has dropped three positions to the ninth spot in the ranking of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) updated on May 20.

WTA ranking is headed by Naomi Osaka from Japan (6,486), Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic (5,055), Simona Halep from Romania (5,533), Kiki Bertens from the Netherlands (5,050), Angelique Kerber from Germany (5,095), Sloane Stephens from the United States (4,552) and Ashleigh Barty from Australia (4,430). Elina Svitolina ranks ninth with 3,967 points, which is the worst result for her since 2017, Ukrinform reports.

In the WTA ranking, Ukraine’s Lesya Tsurenko (1,796) dropped one position to the 27th spot, Dayana Yastremska (1,319) also fell one position to the 42nt spot. Kateryna Kozlova (640) retained the 66th spot.
