WBC champion Ramirez ready to fight Lomachenko in light welterweight division

WBC light welterweight champion Jose Ramirez has said he is ready to fight WBA and WBO lightweight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko if the latter moves up in weight.

In particular, the 26-year-old American said that such a fight is possible because both boxers are represented by the same promotion firm – Top Rank.

"I think I can make 140 [63.5 kg] easily, and I think if the opportunity comes before I unify all other titles, if the opportunity comes to face Lomachenko, then I will take that fight. […] It's a possible fight because we're both Top Rank," he told the EsNews sport site.

Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko topped BoxingTalk's pound-for-pound ranking of the world's best fighters, regardless of weight class. The World Boxing Association (WBA) also recognized his fight with Venezuelan Jorge Linares as the best battle in 2018.
