Ismaily ready to acquire Ukrainian citizenship - media

Shakhtar Donetsk defender Ismaily is ready to acquire Ukrainian citizenship, host of the ProFutbol program Ihor Tsyhanyk has said.

"It is quite possible that Ismaily will adopt Ukrainian citizenship in the near future. People close to him say he is considering this opportunity seriously," he said.

According to Tsyhanyk, Ismaily hoped to get a place in the Brazilian national team, but having received it, he did not play for the team.

Therefore, sources say that Ismaily is ready to acquire Ukrainian citizenship and compete for a place in Ukraine's national football team. "An example of Marlos inspired him," Tsyhanyk said.

In March this year, the 28-year-old was invited to the Brazilian national team for friendly matches with Russia and Germany, but did not appear on the pitch.

Ismaily has played for Shakhtar Donetsk since 2013, scoring 14 goals in 156 matches.
