Ukraine wins gold in synchronized swimming at European Championships

Ukraine's synchronized swimmers won gold medals in the free combination event at the 2018 Glasgow European Championships on Sunday, August 5, Ukrinform reports.

The national team, represented by Yelyzaveta Yakhno, Anastasia Savchuk, Valeria Apreleva, Veronika Hryshko, Oleksandra Kashuba, Yana Narizhna, Kateryna Riznyk, Alina Shynkarenko, Maryna Oleksiyeva, Vladyslava Oleksiyeva, Marta Fedina and Oleksandra Kovalenko scored 94.4667 points to finish first, ahead of Italy (92.6000) and Spain (91.4667).

It is already the third medal for Ukrainian synchronized swimmers in Glasgow. Ukraine's duet of Yakhno and Savchuk earlier took silver medals. The women's national team also claimed silver in the team event.

Yakhno will also perform in Glasgow in the solo competition.
