Ukraine U19s beat Turkey, to face Portugal in Euro semifinal

Ukraine defeated Turkey 1-0 in the final group stage match of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship on Monday, July 23.

Dynamo Kyiv's Serhiy Buletsa scored in the ninth minute at the stadium in the Finnish city of Seinajoki, Ukrinform reports.

In its first two group games, Ukraine defeated France 2-1 and played out a 1-1 draw with England. 

In another Group B match, France hammered England 5-0.

Ukraine finished first in Group B with seven points. France has six points, England four points, and Turkey zero points.

In the semifinals of the tournament to be held on July 26, Ukraine will take on Group A winners Portugal and France will face Group A runners-up Italy. The final of the championship will be played on July 29.

The victory over Turkey automatically led Ukraine to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2019. Under the rules, the first five teams of the current tournament will play at next year's tournament.
