Rigondo: 'My fight with Lomachenko is not for money, but for glory'

Cuban boxer Guillermo Rigondeaux has said that his upcoming encounter with Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko is not for money, but for glory.

"23 days to go for the Lomachenko-Rigondeaux fight. As soon as Michael Buffer asks if we are ready to rumble, history will be made. It's the first fight this year that the best fights the best not for money, but for glory," Rigondeaux wrote on his Twitter page on November 16.

The bout between Lomachenko and Rigondeaux will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York on December 9. The two-time Olympic champions will fight for the first time in the history of professional boxing.
