Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina becomes world No.10


Elina Svitolina has been rewarded with her Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Top 10 debut on Monday.

Having won Saturday's trophy at the prestigious Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, 22-year-old Ukrainian tennis player has risen three places in the WTA ranking, leaving behind US player Venus Williams, Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic, and British Johanna Konta, Ukrinform reports.

Ukraine’s No.2 and No.3, Lesya Tsurenko and Kateryna Bondarenko, occupy 50th and 78th places respectively.

WTA ranking is headed by American Serena Williams. German Angelique Kerber occupies the second place. Karolina Pliskova from the Czech Republic is ranked third.
