Ukraine to participate in Invictus Games 2017

The team of Ukrainian servicemen and veterans, who received disabilities in the military operations in Donbas, will for the first time present Ukraine at the Invictus Games next year.

Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze said this at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Invictus Games will be held in Toronto in September 2017. It is particularly important for us that Ukraine won the right and already obtained the confirmation from the Games organizers," the Vice Prime Minister said.

Klympush-Tsyntsadze emphasized that the state and society in Ukraine should do more to make the lives of the heroes, who return home from the war, socially active.

Invictus Games were initiated by Prince Harry in the UK two years ago. They have been already attended by about 400 soldiers-athletes from 13 countries.
