Euro 2016: first Ukrainian open training session in France draws crowds

The Ukrainian football team held its first training session at the Georges Carcassonne stadium, which is a 10-minute drive from the hotel where the team is staying, football24.ua site reports.

"The first training session was open to the public who filled the seats of the local stadium. Ukrainians who arrived from Marseille, Nice and other parts of France, the French public and many local children provided the national team with a ‘home-like’ atmosphere", the report says.

After the training the Ukrainian national team was welcomed by Aix-en-Provence mayor Marice Zouasenne, who said that it was a great honor for the city to host the team. In turn, Andriy Pavelko, President of the Football Federation of Ukraine, thanked her and the city's residents for their hospitality. Ukraine will play its first match against Germany on Sunday, June 12 at 22:00 Kyiv time.
