Zelensky awards state scholarships to 90 outstanding figures in science, culture, and arts

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has awarded state scholarships to 90 outstanding figures in science, culture, and the arts.

According to Ukrinform, the relevant decrees No. 495/2026 and No. 496/2026 have been published on the President’s website.

Decree No. 495/2026 provides for the lifetime awarding of seven state scholarships to outstanding figures in science who have reached the age of seventy.

Specifically, the scholarships were awarded to Vladymyr Bortnichuk, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences and professor; Pavlo Kryvenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, and Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Honored Scientist and Engineer of Ukraine Anatolii Petrenko; Doctor of Agricultural Sciences and Professor Oleksii Pylypenko; Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, and Honored Scientist and Engineer of Ukraine Ivan Protsenko; Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, and winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology Anatolii Sachenko; and Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine Vitalii Sikora.

Decree No. 496/2026 provides for the lifetime award of 15 state scholarships to outstanding figures in culture and the arts who have reached the age of seventy. Among the scholarship recipients is Vasyl Zinkevych, Hero of Ukraine, People’s Artist of the Ukrainian SSR, and laureate of the Taras Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine. The decree also provides for 68 two-year scholarships.
