Founder of Horizon Reach NGO Vitalii Tsokur killed in action
Vitalii Tsokur, the founder and head of the public organization Horizon Reach (Osiazhnyi Obrii), has been killed while serving on the front line.
According to Ukrinform, the news was announced on Facebook by the Anti-Corruption Action Center (AntAC).
“Our former colleague Vitalii Tsokur was killed on the front line. Vitalii worked with us as a lawyer. After leaving AntAC, he founded the NGO Horizon Reach and was actively involved in efforts to reform the Security Service of Ukraine,” the organization said in a statement.
Even before Russia’s full-scale invasion, Tsokur joined Ukraine’s Territorial Defense Forces. From the first days of the invasion, he took part in the defense of Ukraine on the battlefield.
“Vitalii endured some of the most difficult trials while serving in the Special Operations Forces. He received distinctions for taking risks during combat missions,” AntAC noted.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, journalist Oleksandr Klymenko from the city of Poltava was recently killed in the war.
