The Ukrainian government, together with businesses, is developing training, retraining and veteran entrepreneurship support programs, with the goal of employing 100,000 veterans by 2030.

According to Ukrinform, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced the initiative on Facebook following a meeting with veterans in Kyiv.

Svyrydenko said Ukraine is shaping its veteran policy during wartime and stressed the importance of making state support simple, accessible and effective where veterans need it most.

"Our task is not only to help with employment, but also to create opportunities for professional development after military service. By 2030, we aim to employ 100,000 veterans. Together with businesses, we are working on training and retraining programs, support for veteran entrepreneurship and grant initiatives," she said.

She also noted that the government's eOselia affordable housing program is available to veterans and combat participants. This year, UAH 5.4 billion has already been allocated for housing for veterans and the families of fallen defenders.

More than 2,600 veteran support specialists are already working in local communities, helping veterans and their families gain access to services, rehabilitation and assistance programs. The government plans to increase the number of such specialists to 3,400, particularly in frontline regions.

Svyrydenko added that 225 services provided by the state and regional administrations are already available through the Veteran.PRO platform, with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs continuing to expand the range of services.

The meeting also focused on improving access to prosthetics, wheelchairs and physical rehabilitation services.

"We continue to maintain constant communication and work on solutions for high-quality adaptation after military service," Svyrydenko said.
