Ukraine brings back six more children from temporarily occupied part of Kherson region
Ukraine has brought back six more children from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"Another six children have been successfully returned to territory under Ukraine's control from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. These are four boys and two girls aged 8 to 17," the statement says.
It is noted that among those rescued is a 17-year-old girl who was forced to attend an occupation-run school, where children were forcibly enrolled as "cadets," dressed in the military uniform of the occupying army, and told every day that war is normal.
According to the official, a 14-year-old girl secretly continued her studies in a Ukrainian school while explosions could be heard near her home. She was denied treatment and rehabilitation because her family refused to obtain Russian documents.
Prokudin added that all of them lived under pressure, fear, and constant threats to their lives, but now these children are finally safe and receiving the necessary assistance.
It is noted that the return took place within the framework of the initiative of the President of Ukraine, Bring Kids Back UA, with the assistance of the charitable organization Save Ukraine.
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that thanks to the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, 2,126 Ukrainian children abducted by Russia have been returned home.
