Sculptures of Kyiv's founders dressed up for Easter
In the capital, on Poshtova Square, the sculptures of Kyiv’s founders—Kyi, Shchek, Khoryv, and their sister Lybid—have been dressed as children in traditional Ukrainian attire and adorned with Easter baskets.
According to Ukrinform, the creator of the sculpture group, Volodymyr Zhuravel, announced this on Facebook.
He posted photos of the young founders of Kyiv.
Specifically, Kyi, Shchek, and Khoryv were dressed in vyshyvankas (embroidered shirts), while their sister Lybid wore a national embroidered costume. Next to the figures, small lamps and Easter baskets covered with traditional embroidered towels were placed.
As reported by Ukrinform, on Sunday, April 12, Orthodox and Greek Catholics celebrate one of the most significant holidays of the year—Easter or the Resurrection of Christ.
