The Ukrainian National News Agency, Ukrinform, marks its 108th anniversary since its founding.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, staff were awarded honors for their contributions to Ukrainian journalism and professional excellence.

"We are directly aware of and feel our country's course, and we ensure the world does not forget it. Beyond our Ukrainian audience, one of our key missions is shaping opinions abroad – a task carried out by our colleagues around the globe," said Ukrinform Director General Serhii Cherevatyi.

He noted that since 2014, 27 Ukrinform staff have served in the Armed Forces, one was killed, 19 are currently serving, and two were mobilized just last week.

Oleh Nalyvaiko, head of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting, thanked Ukrinform leadership and staff for their hard and important work, especially during the full-scale invasion.

"I reviewed the messages I sent to staff in the first days of the full-scale war. At that incredibly difficult time, under missile attacks, colleagues not only prepared news reports but also assisted the Defense Forces. The information provided by Ukrinform then proved truly useful. Perhaps one day this will be openly discussed. When the time comes – after our victory – there will be a book about the events and the people who worked then," Nalyvaiko said.

Andrii Yusov, head of strategic communications at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, joined the congratulations, emphasizing Ukrinform's key role in information warfare during the war.

"Ukrinform, formerly the Ukrainian Telegraph Agency and Bureau of Ukrainian Press, was founded during the liberation struggles of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Ukrainian State. Among its founders was the publicist and Ukrainian nationalist ideologist Dmytro Dontsov. Now, 108 years later, the agency continues to operate effectively, participating in resistance to Russian aggression. The spirit of statehood described by figures of that time is alive today. They would have rejoiced to see their efforts reflected in an independent Ukrainian state and independent institutions like Ukrinform, which has thrived for 108 years with a strong professional team," he said.

Ukrinform leadership and staff were awarded certificates and honors from the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate, the National Guard, the Security Service Academy, and others, in recognition of their contributions to Ukrainian journalism, professionalism, and dedication, on the occasion of the agency's 108th anniversary.

Participants also honored agency staff killed due to Russian aggression, as well as all fallen Ukrainians.

On March 14, Ukrinform staff, alongside soldiers from the 49th Assault Battalion "Carpathian Sich" named after Oleh Kutsyn, symbolically climbed Mount Hymba in Ukraine's western Zakarpattia region. The climb commemorated three significant events: Ukrainian Volunteer Fighter Day, the 87th anniversary of the proclamation of Carpathian Ukraine, and Ukrinform's 108th anniversary. Journalists, photojournalists, editors, and administrative staff from across Ukraine participated, raising the Ukrinform flag at the summit.
