Patriarch Filaret hospitalized due to deteriorating health

Patriarch Filaret has been hospitalized due to deteriorating health.

According to Ukrinform, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine reported this.

“On March 9, 2026, due to the deterioration of his health caused by the exacerbation of chronic diseases, His Holiness Patriarch Filaret was hospitalized in a medical facility in Kyiv,” the statement said.

As reported, Patriarch Filaret celebrated his 97th birthday on January 23.
