Estonian Defense Minister leaves UAE by land due to closure of airports in Middle East
Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, who was in Dubai when the US operation against Iran began, left the United Arab Emirates and reached Oman by land due to airspace closures in the region.
According to Ukrinform, ERR reported this.
It is noted that due to restrictions on air travel, the minister traveled to Oman by land. His exact whereabouts are not being disclosed.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that the airport in Oman resumed operations on Sunday, but air traffic remains significantly disrupted.
"I am not sure whether he [Hanno Pevkur] has reached Estonia, but I know that he was, so to speak, in a safe place," Tsahkna stated.
According to him, there are currently no signs that the airspace in the Middle East will be fully opened soon.
As reported by Ukrinform, on February 28, the US and Israel launched joint strikes on regime targets in Iran. Iran then attacked US bases in Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan.
