From March 1, pensions to increase for about 10 million Ukrainians, PM Svyrydenko says

The government is ready to ensure annual pension indexation starting March 1. Pensions and insurance payments will be indexed by 12.1%, and the increase will affect about 10 million Ukrainians.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram following a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukrinform reports.

"The prime minister reported on the government's readiness to ensure annual pension indexation starting March 1. Pensions and insurance payments will be indexed by 12.1%, and in total, the increase will affect about 10 million Ukrainians. Even in the conditions of full-scale war, our state ensures the indexation of pensions and all necessary social payments," Zelensky said.

During the meeting, the President and Prime Minister agreed on a sequence of steps and a schedule for approving updated plans for the stability of Ukraine's regions and the energy sector as a whole.

“The main changes that need to be implemented have already been prepared, and in the near future we will determine a strategy for Ukraine for next winter, taking into account the experience of those regions and communities that have demonstrated greater efficiency this winter,” the President said.

According to him, other decisions are being prepared that will support people and Ukrainian communities.

As reported by Ukrinform, the government has approved the Pension Fund's budget for 2026 with total revenues and expenditures of UAH 1,263.3 billion. UAH 1,001.9 billion is allocated for pension payments; UAH 63.8 billion is allocated for payments under compulsory state social insurance in connection with temporary disability and industrial accidents and occupational diseases that have resulted in disability.
