“By Sword and Will”: Ukrposhta releases stamp block marking anniversary of full-scale war

On February 24, Ukraine’s national postal operator Ukrposhta issued a commemorative stamp block titled “By Sword and Will” for the Day of Remembrance and Resistance. The release is dedicated to defenders, rescuers, medics, volunteers, and everyone who stands daily in defense of peace and freedom.

According to Ukrinform, Ukrposhta announced the release on Facebook.

The stamp block is based on works by Ukrainian artist Oleh Shupliak from his series “The Great Battle of Ukraine with Mordor.” In 2022, the artist reinterpreted Russia’s invasion through symbolic imagery, portraying Ukraine as a force of light resisting imperial evil.

“This stamp block is intended to preserve the memory of wartime and the daily resistance of Ukrainians,” Ukrposhta noted.

The ceremonial first-day cancellation took place at the Main Post Office on Independence Square in Kyiv.
