Court extends Kolomoisky’s detention until March 25
The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has extended businessman Ihor Kolomoisky’s preventive measure of detention until March 25 in the case concerning a contract killing.
This was reported to Ukrinform by Maria Pylaieva, the spokesperson judge of the Pechersk District Court.
“By the ruling of the investigating judge of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv, the period of detention of the accused has been extended until March 25, 2026,” she said.
As previously reported, the Office of the Prosecutor General announced suspicion against Ihor Kolomoisky in May 2024.
Law enforcement authorities accuse him of ordering the murder of the director of a law firm for failing to comply with demands to cancel and invalidate decisions of the general shareholders’ meeting of a public joint-stock company. The events took place in Feodosia (Crimea).
In addition, on September 2, 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Economic Security, and the Prosecutor General’s Office served Kolomoisky with suspicion under Articles 190 and 209 of the Criminal Code: fraud and legalization (money laundering) of property obtained illegally.
Later, Kolomoisky received two more suspicions regarding the withdrawal of a total of UAH 15 billion from PrivatBank.
