Unity March to take place in Frankfurt on Ukraine’s Unity Day

On January 22, the Ukrainian community in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) will celebrate Ukrainian Unity Day with a rally and a symbolic march through the city's central streets to demonstrate their unbreakable unity with their homeland.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on the Facebook page of Amal Frankfurt Ukraine.

The event, organized by the Ukrainian Coordination Center, will begin at 5 p.m. on the square near the Old Opera House (Opernplatz).

The program includes speeches by community activists, after which participants will march through the city center.

The organizers note that such gatherings have already become a tradition for Ukrainians in Frankfurt, especially at a time when the idea of unity is crucial for the survival of the nation.

Ukrainian Unity Day is a public holiday dedicated to the proclamation of the Act of Unification of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the West Ukrainian People's Republic. This historic event took place on January 22, 1919, on Sophia Square in Kyiv. The Act of Unification marked the union of Ukrainian lands into a single state.

On January 8, a large rally dedicated to Ukrainian Unity Day was held in the Swedish capital. Participants formed a “living chain” of solidarity to remind the international community of Russia's ongoing aggression and Ukraine's critical needs for defense and the release of prisoners.
