In those districts of the capital where the power supply situation is currently the most difficult, the State Emergency Service is connecting high-capacity generators.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"In districts of Kyiv with the biggest power supply problems, on the government's instruction, the State Emergency Service is providing residential buildings with high-capacity generators. They also reduce the load on the system and ensure the functioning of entire neighborhoods," she wrote.

Svyrydenko also said that the situation with food supplies is under control. The Minister of Economy is in contact with retail chains to respond to needs if necessary.

According to her, additional points of invincibility are being deployed across the country. A review of the list of critical infrastructure facilities made it possible to add 1 GW of capacity to the grid, helping balance the energy system amid low temperatures.

"I instructed the heads of regional military administrations and the relevant ministry to keep extremely difficult situations under personal control and to respond immediately, go to the sites, and stay in contact with people," Svyrydenko said.

The government is paying special attention to ensuring fuel reserves. The main task is to secure availability of resources and price stability.

Energy workers are restoring generation and increasing imports. Work is ongoing at all energy facilities.

"Enemy attacks, low temperatures, and icing of the networks create additional strain on the system. We ask for understanding and for resourceful use of electricity," Svyrydenko added.

As reported earlier, after the nighttime shelling on January 9, 20% of buildings in Kyiv's Pechersk district remain without heating. There are also problems in the Dniprovskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts, where about 15% of buildings are without heat.
