Klitschko shows utility workers restoring heat supply in Kyiv after Russian attack
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has released a video showing utility workers repairing damage to the heating network caused by a massive Russian attack on the capital on January 9 in extremely low temperatures.
According to Ukrinform, Klitschko posted the video on Telegram.
“Utility workers are repairing infrastructure damaged by enemy attacks,” the mayor of Kyiv said.
According to him, work is continuing day and night to restore heat supply to Kyiv residents' homes as quickly as possible.
Klitschko expressed his gratitude to the utility workers who “work around the clock. Under shelling. After shelling. In conditions where there are not enough people. When everyone has to work for two specialists.”
The mayor emphasized that heat has already been restored to most buildings, and utility workers continue to work.
“Only by working together, each in our own place and supporting one another, will we overcome the most difficult challenges,” Klitschko said.
As reported by Ukrinform, according to Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba, all boiler rooms are working in Kyiv, and 85% of buildings that were without heating now have heat.
