Ukrainian Ambassador shares details about search operations in Poland
The Polish side has ensured that search operations are carried out in the village of Jureczkowa in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, near the border with Ukraine. The operations will last up to three weeks, and it is too early to talk about their results.
This was stated by the Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, in a comment to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“We are pleased with Poland's assistance in conducting search operations in Jureczkowa, and all the necessary conditions for the work have been created. The search operations will last up to three weeks,” Bodnar said, adding that it is too early to talk about the results of the work.
He said that the Polish side had provided everything necessary for the work to be carried out. The Ukrainian side is cooperating with the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland, local authorities, the police, and relevant services.

According to the Ambassador, the search operations in Jureczkowa are the result of the Ukrainian-Polish working group's good cooperation. He emphasized that this is the first search operation on Polish territory based on the working group's findings. Ukraine previously issued permits for search and exhumation work in Puzhnyky, in the Ternopil region, and in the former cemetery in the Zboishche district of Lviv.
“We have relevant agreements that are being implemented. We hope that work will continue in other areas requested by the Ukrainian and Polish sides. The Ukrainian side is ready for this and will issue permits in the near future,” Bodnar emphasized.
He noted that the Ukrainian party will continue to issue permits for search and exhumation work, in particular in such settlements as Huta Peniatska in the Lviv region and Uhly in the Rivne region.
“This may happen in the coming weeks,” the Ambassador said.
As reported by the agency, a Ukrainian expedition consisting of researchers from the Dolya Memorial and Search Center in Lviv began search and exhumation work in Poland on Tuesday.
In the Zboishche district of Lviv, on the territory of the former cemetery, the Ukrainian-Polish expedition conducted a search and exhumation for the reburial of Polish Army deceased.
In the Ternopil region, the bodies found in Puzhnyky during the search and exhumation work were reinterred.
