Border guards preparing for Rosh Hashanah celebrations in Ukraine
Ukraine’s border guards are preparing for an increase in passenger traffic due to the celebration of Rosh Hashanah from September 22 to 24.
This was reported to a Ukrinform correspondent by Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
“Of course, border units responsible for processing operations at checkpoints are taking into account the expected increase in passenger flow during Rosh Hashanah in Ukraine, when Hasidic pilgrims from various countries are expected to arrive,” said Demchenko.
He added that border control measures for processing citizens at the border will be carried out in accordance with Ukrainian law. “I would like to note that there have been no changes to crossing procedures for foreign citizens,” he emphasized.
According to previous reports, over 45,000 pilgrims are expected to visit Uman for the Jewish New Year celebration of Rosh Hashanah in 2025.
