A delegation of the German Bundestag has visited Irpin in the Kyiv region.

Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Today, my first deputy Andriy Kravchuk showed affected Irpin to representatives of the German Bundestag - MPs from different factions, heads and staff of parliamentarians' offices. Those who influence political decisions in the leading European country," Markushyn said.

According to him, the whole of Ukraine is now waiting for a positive decision on the supply of Taurus long-range missiles. "Unfortunately, a significant part of the parliament is reluctant to vote for the transfer of missiles to Ukraine - this week they failed to pass the relevant bill," the mayor said.

"I am convinced that anyone who personally witnesses what Russian missiles and shells have done to Irpin and other regions will never slow down the transfer of defense weapons to Ukraine," Markushyn emphasized.

According to him, in order to reduce such situations and delays, the number of visits by foreign delegations should increase.

"People who decide on the fate of aid for Ukraine should see the consequences of Russian aggression with their own eyes. I am grateful to our German guests for such an important visit!" added Markushyn.

As Ukrinform reported, a new exposition was presented in the reconstructed Historical and Local History Museum in Irpin.
