World of Tanks creators raise over $1M to buy ambulances for Ukraine

As part of the WargamingUnited charity project from the creators of World of Tanks, more than US$1 million has already been raised for the purchase of emergency ambulance vehicles for Ukrainian medics.

This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology, Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukrinform reports.

"In total, players purchased 90,000 charity kits in World of Tanks and the company's other five games, raising $1,074,940. All funds will be transferred through United24 for the purchase of ambulances, which will save the lives of thousands of Ukrainians," the statement reads.

Fedorov recalled that Wargaming, a global game developer, in October 2023 launched the WargamingUnited charity project to help Ukrainian medics. Over the two weeks, people from 115 countries joined the initiative. Most of them come from Germany, the USA, Poland, the Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom.

As reported, two armored ambulances, purchased with contributions from the United24 platform, were deployed at the front to evacuate the wounded from the battlefield.
