Among total number of IDPs, 60% are women - OPORA

Of the total number of internally displaced persons, approximately 60% are women and 40% are men.

Data analyst of the civil network "OPORA" Andriy Savchuk said this during the presentation and discussion of the results of research on migration, media consumption and social and political activity of IDPs at the Media Center Ukraine - Ukrinform.

"As for IDPs, there are a lot of them in Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Social Policy, the number (of IDPs - ed.) has not changed much over the past few months. This is about 4.7 million IDPs, and they are scattered in different regions. (Among them - ed.) there are much more women than men: about 60% of IDPs are women, 40% are men," Savchuk said.

Savchuk also noted that Poland has received the largest number of Ukrainians since the beginning of the full-scale war, as evidenced by both the data of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and the data of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

"In general, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that more than half of these 8 million Ukrainians are in just three countries: Poland is in first place, Germany is in second place, and the United States is in third place. In general, there are also many Ukrainians in the Czech Republic, Italy, Canada, and Israel," said the OPORA representative.

The study "The Number of Ukrainians and Their Migration Abroad Due to the War" was created based on data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Border Guard Service and other official agencies.

As Ukrinform reported, as of June 24, about 4.8 million IDPs were officially registered in Ukraine.
