Minister Tkachenko: Country that takes lives of children has no right to exist

Russia as a country that takes lives and cripples the fate of Ukrainian children has no right to exist.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Culture and Information Policy Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Tkachenko mentioned that Russia had already killed 485 children in Ukraine. Hundreds of young Ukrainians were seriously injured and thousands forcibly deported by Russian occupiers.

“It is terrible that there is Day of Remembrance of Children who died as a result of Russian armed aggression against Ukraine. This date will forever be engraved in our history, so that we never forget and never forgive,” Tkachenko stressed, adding that the country that “takes the lives of our future has no right to exist.”

A reminder that, in 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine endorsed a resolution to annually honor the memory of children killed as a result of Russian armed aggression on June 4.

As of June 4, 2023, a total of 485 children had been killed and over 1,005 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.
