Ukraine, Austria to expand cooperation in social sphere

Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Oksana Zholnovych and Federal Minister of Social Affairs of Austria Johannes Rauch signed the Protocol of Intentions on Ukraine–Austria cooperation in social sphere.

The document expands the framework of Ukraine–Austria cooperation in the areas important to Ukraine in the context of the consequences of Russian aggression, in particular, in the issue of rehabilitation, psychological support, development of foster homes.

"In addition, Austria will provide practical support on Ukraine's path to the EU and will contribute to the involvement of our country in EU social programs," the Embassy informed.

As reported, since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Austria has provided more than EUR 129 million in financial and humanitarian aid. The Federal Government of Austria, federal lands, communities and the population also make a significant contribution to the reception and integration of Ukrainian IDPs. Currently, more than 55,000 Ukrainians live in Austria.
