Navy flags raised in Kyiv

To mark the 105th anniversary of the Navy Flag of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, flags of the Navy were raised in the center of Kyiv as a symbol of faith in the return of the Ukrainian fleet to Crimea.

According to Ukrinform, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA), Serhiy Popko, wrote about this on Telegram and posted a photo of the flag on a flagpole near the Kyiv City State Administration building.

"Today, April 29, marks the 105th anniversary of the Ukrainian Navy! On this day, in 1918, the Black Sea Fleet was officially declared the fleet of the Ukrainian People's Republic in Sevastopol. Red flags were lowered and Ukrainian flags were raised on battleships, cruisers, and destroyers," he said.

"This flag will definitely fly again in the Sevastopol Bay!" Popko said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Naval Flag of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, expressed his belief that Ukrainian flags would soon fly again over the liberated Ukrainian Crimea.
