Bucha kitchen factory to be launched in September - Zelenska

The Kitchen Factory in Bucha, the war-torn town just outside Kyiv, is set to be launched as early as September 2023.

This was announced by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, who spoke at the national telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Two months ago, we launched the construction of a so-called Kitchen Factory in Bucha, together with American philanthropist Howard Buffett. It will be a large facility where 10,000 meals will be cooked each day, helping feed children in three schools in the nearby communities. This is an interesting project as it will allow for controlling both quality and performance at a single location rather than inspecting schools. And I am sure that we will be able to scale it. Other communities are already interested in this. I really hope that from September 1, these schools will get their meals from this factory," said Zelenska.

She noted that Howard Buffett is a great patriot of Ukraine in this situation as he really wants to help the country.

"When such people, with such great opportunities, have such a desire to help, then we love doing joint projects. I'm already looking forward to launching it late August," added the First Lady of Ukraine.
