About 2,000 people evacuated from Donetsk region in a week

Two thousand residents have been evacuated from Donetsk region in a week.

"Almost 2,000 people, including 385 children, have been evacuated," Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, said during the nationwide telethon.

According to the official, people are evacuated to houses prepared for them in Kirovohrad, Poltava, and Khmelnytskyi regions and will be given monthly cash payments.

On July 29, the Cabinet of Ministers created the Coordination Headquarters to deal with the evacuation from the Donetsk region. It was headed by Iryna Vereshchuk. The headquarters includes representatives of ministries, law enforcement agencies, and military administrations.

The residents of unoccupied areas of Donetsk region will be evacuated till the start of the heating season.

President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Donbas residents to evacuate.
