Chairman of Okhtyrka district council released from Russian captivity

Chairman of the Okhtyrka district council (Sumy region) Serhiy Kirichko was released after a week of Russian captivity.

"Serhiy Kirichko was released from Russian captivity. He was held in a basement for a week," Olena Shulyak, head of the Servant of the People political party, posted on Telegram.

As noted, Kirichko continues his pro-Ukrainian activities. He has returned to work in the first hours after his release and helps the residents of Okhtyrka district around the clock.

"Despite all the circumstances, we remain in place and work. Glad to be free. Many thanks to all involved! We continue to work for the victory of our native Sumy region! Everything will be Ukraine," Kirichko said.

As reported, on March 21, the Russian military released Viktoria Roshchyna, a journalist of hromadske media outlet.
