Situation in Ukraine’s airspace under control – Kubrakov

The situation in Ukraine’s airspace is under control, flight safety is fully ensured, except for the territory over the Black Sea, where exercises of the Russian Federation are taking place.

Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov said at a briefing on the situation in the air services market, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"There are currently no solid reasons for canceling flights; the situation in the airspace is fully controlled by the state. We work 24/7 and receive up-to-date information on the military situation. Therefore, quick and effective decisions will be taken in the event of the lowest real risk,” the minister said.

He has noted that the Ministry of Infrastructure has been preparing for such cases since 2014, so all services understand what to do in such situations.

As Ukrinform reported, some international airlines suspended flights to Ukraine due to growing military tensions in the region. In particular, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and Swiss Air have recently canceled their flights to Ukraine, namely to Kyiv and Odesa, until March.
