Ukraine has been recording a decrease in the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations for the second week in a row.

Minister of Health Viktor Liashko said at a briefing on Monday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The signs of stabilization of the incidence of COVID-19 have become more visible over the last week. New confirmed COVID-19 [weekly] cases decreased by 19% or 43,616 cases in absolute terms, up to 191,640 [weekly] cases. The number of hospitalizations has been decreasing for the second week in a row. Last week, 20,402 patients were hospitalized, which is 4,000 less than in the previous week," Liashko said.

He noted that last week the number of COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals significantly exceeded the number of patients hospitalized.

"Weekly Covid hospitalizations are dropping in 21 of Ukraine's 25 regions. In the other four regions - Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy regions - the situation remains under control," the minister added.
