Antiviral medicine Molnupiravir delivered to regions - Liashko

The Ministry of Health has distributed the antiviral medicine Molnupiravir to the regions of Ukraine.

Minister of Health Viktor Liashko said at a briefing on Monday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The country has received the medicine Molnupiravir for the treatment of COVID-19 and it has already been delivered to the regions. The medicine can be prescribed only by doctors for patients at risk, ie: the elderly; people with chronic diseases," Liashko said.

He has noted that Molnupiravir is prescribed to prevent the transition from mild to moderate or severe COVID-19 and reduce the likelihood of hospitalization or death.

According to Liashko, Molnupiravir is prohibited for sale in pharmacies in Ukraine, it can only be obtained from a doctor for free.

As reported, Ukraine received 135,000 courses of Molnupiravir.
