Slovakia to send mine clearance systems, medical supplies to Ukraine

The government of Slovakia has approved a decision to provide Ukraine with two mine clearance systems and medical supplies worth EUR 1.7 million.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by The Slovak Spectator.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Korčok said that mine clearance systems should be viewed as defence devices that will help save lives of civilians.

“I see it [assistance] as part of a vast diplomatic effort in which the highest aim we have is to reach the political and diplomatic solution of the tension we have experienced for weeks now,” Korčok said.

As part of humanitarian aid the Defence Ministry will ensure the delivery of mine clearance systems and medical supplies to Ukraine.

According the document approved by the government, the delivery will take place either directly to the relevant humanitarian aid recipient or through the humanitarian aid delivery mechanisms set up in the European Union or NATO.
