Monastyrsky: Situation in cities and villages under control

The situation in the cities and villages of Ukraine is stable and under control, Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky has assured.

“The situation on the streets of cities and villages of Ukraine is stable and under control. There have been no significant violations of public order in Ukraine in the past 24 hours. Transport infrastructure, energy, utility companies are operating as usual,” he said in a video address posted on the Interior Ministry’s website.

The official has reminded that the Ukrainian National Police personnel will work in strengthened security regime from February 14 to 19.

"This morning, additional police officers and National Guard members have started patrolling the streets of cities and villages. Critical infrastructure, communications and transport are under protection. The enhanced regime of law enforcement officers is not an additional reason for panic, it is about protection and full readiness for any challenges,” the minister said.

Monastyrsky stressed that the Interior Ministry is a reliable rear for the Armed Forces.
