About 2M Ukrainian tourists visited Turkey in 2021 - Zelensky

A record two million Ukrainian tourists visited Turkey in 2021, despite COVID-19-related restrictions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

He said this at a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Kyiv on Thursday, February 3, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We noted that despite all the restrictions related to COVID-19, a record number of Ukrainian tourists visited Turkey [in 2021] - about two million. In turn, I am very pleased that the number of guests from Turkey visiting our country is growing every year. Staying in each other's countries, our citizens feel hospitality, comfort, security, and respect. These are strong pillars for the friendship of our peoples, which guarantees a future, fruitful successful partnership and brotherhood -- I can say this sincerely -- the brotherhood of our states," Zelensky said.

Erdogan and his wife are on an official visit to Ukraine.
