Ministry of Health preparing for Omicron wave in Ukraine

Ukraine's medical system is preparing for a surge in COVID-19 cases as the new coronavirus variant Omicron is spreading around the world, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine has said on Facebook.

"Trends with the spread of Omicron in the world indicate that Ukraine will not avoid a new outbreak of the coronavirus disease. At the same time, the medical system is constantly being improved before another workload," the statement said.

Doctors again emphasized the importance of everyone complying with anti-epidemic rules, because the incidence rate is gradually increasing.

As before, simple rules remain effective in the fight against the pandemic, among them the proper use of protective masks, social distancing, regular handwashing, and vaccination against COVID-19.

Unvaccinated people have a ten times higher risk of death from COVID-19 and a 4.5 times higher risk of hospitalization than those double jabbed.
