Fedorov thanks Switzerland for supporting digitalization in Ukraine

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov has thanked his Swiss partners for supporting digitalization in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports, referring to the ministry’s press service.

Together with Erwin Bollinger, Ambassador, Delegate of the Swiss Federal Council for Trade Agreements and Head of the Bilateral Economic Relations Division of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Fedorov opened the 13th meeting of the Ukrainian-Swiss Joint Committee. This is one of the key elements of cooperation between Ukraine and the Swiss Confederation, attracting strategic investments and implementing joint projects.

"Ukraine appreciates the full support of the Swiss Confederation, especially in the difficult times of the pandemic. Despite all the challenges, the Ukrainian government is currently doing its best to improve the business environment and investment climate. We are working on creating transparent conditions for doing business. Our main task now is to attract as much investment as possible to the economy," Fedorov said.

According to the ministry’s press service, Switzerland is an important trade and economic partner of Ukraine. In January-September 2021, the volume of trade in goods and services between Ukraine and Switzerland grew twofold compared to the corresponding period of 2020 and amounted to $2,384.7 million. As of June 2021, Swiss investment in Ukraine's economy amounted to $3.7 billion.

As Ukrinform reported, in May 2021, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) signed an agreement to expand assistance to Ukraine under the E-Governance for Accountability and Participation Program (EGAP) to 6.3 million Swiss francs (UAH 193.7 million).
