Tkachenko: Ukraine gradually approaching recognition in film industry

The launch of Ukrainian interface of Netflix streaming platform proves that Ukraine is gradually approaching recognition in the film industry.

"It's nice when the world's film giants respect their viewers and make the service comfortable. Netflix in Ukrainian, as well as official social media accounts, is definitely a very important step. We, Ukrainians, will get movies and TV series in our native language with high-quality dubbing. The streaming service will get grateful viewers and even more subscribers. Ukraine is gradually approaching recognition in the world of the film industry. This is evidenced by the projects created in co-production, the first Netflix film – The Last Mercenary – that was almost entirely shot in Ukraine, and the interest of foreign producers in our great filming locations," Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko posted on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

As reported, Netflix streaming platform now has Ukrainian interface and the website’s Ukrainian version netflix.ua.

In September 2020, Ukrainian studios Postmodern Postproduction and Tak Treba Production became official partners of Netflix.
