Ukraine and Kuwait discuss mutual recognition of COVID certificates to facilitate travel of citizens.

The issue was raised during a meeting of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Chief Digital Transformation Officer Dmytro Senik with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait for Economic Affairs Sami Al-Hamad, Ukrinform reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The parties discussed the intensification of investment cooperation, preparation for the next meeting of Joint Intergovernmental Ukraine–Kuwait Commission on Economic, Technical, and Trade Cooperation.

Senik and Al-Hamad paid special attention to steps for strengthening tourism and aviation cooperation, including the opening of direct flights between Ukraine and Kuwait. In addition, the officials discussed the mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccination certificates, including digital ones, to facilitate the travel of citizens.

The deputy ministers agreed to organize a visit of a Kuwaiti business delegation to Ukraine and to hold an economic week of Ukraine in Kuwait.

As reported, Ukraine and Thailand discussed mutual recognition of COVID certificates in September.
