Laputina announces veterans forum in Donetsk region this year

In December 2021, the Ministry for Veterans Affairs will hold an All-Ukrainian Veterans’ Forum in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region.

According to Ukrinform, this was announced by Minister for Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina, the ministry’s press service reports.

“We want to hear from communities and veterans in communities about the problems existing in a decentralized environment where the central government cannot influence community development. At the forum, we will discuss the relationship between central and local government and the veterans environment. We are also planning to develop certain mechanisms for further cooperation and, possibly, amendments to the regulatory framework. We want the community to understand that the local authorities are also responsible for veterans policies,” Laputina said.

The event will take place in cooperation with veterans' organizations in eastern Ukraine and with the support of USAID's Democratic Governance East.

As Ukrinform reported, the IV International Volunteer and Veterans Forum "Ukraine 30. Defenders" was held in Kyiv on August 22.
