Ukraine plans to vaccinate half of adult population against COVID-19 by year-end

Ukraine is planning to vaccinate half of the adult population against COVID-19 by the end of 2021.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a government meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We will continue to accelerate [vaccination campaign] so that to vaccinate half of the adult population by the end of the year, or more than half, as we promised," Shmyhal said.

The prime minister called on local authorities to speed up the work in this direction, adding that Ukrainians should not neglect this type of protection.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainians received 51,068 shots of COVID-19 vaccine on Sunday, August 15.
