Government to step up anti-epidemic border crossing measures

The Cabinet of Ministers will amend a resolution imposing anti-epidemic restrictions on crossing the state border and self-isolation of persons returning from abroad, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.

According to Ukrinform, he said this at a government meeting on Wednesday, July 28.

"The pandemic issue is preparing for a new potential wave of the dangerous Delta variant. We work every day to prepare our medical system as best we can. At the same time, we need to minimize the spread of the virus from people coming from abroad. Therefore, we are making changes to quarantine resolution No. 1236, in particular regarding the crossing of the state border and the regime of self-isolation," Shmyhal said.

A total of 5,081,924 doses have been administered in Ukraine since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, with 3,264,713 people receiving their first dose and 1,817,211 people receiving both doses (two people received their first dose abroad).
