Zelensky: Ukrainian peacekeepers prove to the world that our country is about peace and help

Thousands of Ukrainian servicemen are taking part in peacekeeping operations around the world and prove that Ukraine is about peace, the value of human life, and help, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

“Today we mark the Day of Ukrainian Peacekeepers. Thousands of our soldiers are involved in peacekeeping operations in many parts of the world, helping people live in safer conditions. They once again prove to the world that Ukraine is about peace, about the value of human life, and about help,” Zelensky posted on Twitter.

Ukraine marks the Day of Ukrainian Peacekeepers on July 15. The holiday was established by a Verkhovna Rada resolution of May 21, 2013.

According to Ukrainian Defense Minister Andrii Taran, 45,000 Ukrainian servicemen have taken part in international peacekeeping operations since 1992.
