Number of influenza, ARVI cases growing in Kyiv city

A total of 9,168 cases of influenza and acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI) have been recorded in the city of Kyiv over the 21st week of 2021, the press service of Kyiv City State Administration reports.

"The incidence rate is 58.8% below the epidemic threshold. Currently, the incidence rate is 309," the report reads.

In general, the capital has observed an increase in the incidence of influenza and ARVI by 12% compared to the previous week. In particular, 4,637 children (+33.1%) and 4,531 adults (-3.7%) fell ill.

Over the reporting week, 443 people with flu and ARVI were hospitalized, including 56 children.

Over the past day, May 30, Kyiv city recorded 63 new coronavirus cases. Nine people died.

As of May 31, Ukraine reported 2,202,494 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,022 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
