About 1.5 mln IDPs registered in Ukraine

About 1.5 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea have been registered in Ukraine as of May 5.

This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

"As of May 5, 2021, according to the Unified Information Database of Internally Displaced Persons, 1,466,077 internally displaced persons from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea were registered," the report reads.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukraine annually allocates an average of UAH 3 billion for targeted assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs). In addition, on April 28, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for granting preferential mortgage loans to IDPs through a EUR 25.5 million grant provided by the German bank KfW.
